TIOMAN DIVE REPORT 24 APR ~ 26 APR ONBOARD MV BEACHBOY

Trip report for Tioman diving over the weekend onboard MV BEACHBOY.

There was 19 divers from hydro addic departing from Lavender via combi van and MPV for Endau to board MV BEACHBOY.

25 April (1st dive)
Dive site: Pulau Tulai Bay
Time in : 1033hr
Bottom time : 30 mins
Visibility : 12 m
Max depth : 15 m
Remarks: This dive was apparently short, as some of the divers experienced equipments malfunction u/w ie. BCD auto inflate, also some of the divers who have been out of diving was having some problems descending and there were divers low on air after 25 mins u/w..well, that was what check out dive was about, to prepare the divers for the subsequent more challenging dive site ahead for us to explore :)

25 April (2nd dive)
Dive site : Pulau Chebeh
Time in : 1344hr
Bottom time : 42 mins
Visibility : 12 m
Max depth : 24.1 m
Remarks: Beautiful gorgonian seafans, garouper and soft corals were healthy over at the north west of Chebeh, of course the friendly titan trigger fish often check us out :)
25 April (3rd dive)
Dive site : Tiger reef
Time in : 1707hr
Bottom time : 50 mins
Visibility : 15 m
Max depth : 22.5 m
Remarks : As usual, the surface current tends to be strong, however once we descended more than 5 m, the current became mild. We sighted a 1.5 m humphead parrot fish, the soft and hard corals were as healthy as before, guess this site is not often dive and therefore damages were minimal. Rated as one of the best dive site in Tioman
25 April (4th dive/night dive)
Dive site : Renggis Island
Time in : 1955hr
Bottom time : 40 mins
Visibilty : 15 m
Max depth : 12 m
Remarks : One of the best night dive i ever did in Tioman, we sighted a 1 m giant cuttlefish, different species of crab.
26 April (5th dive)
Dive site : Tokong Burong
Time in : 0900hr
Bottom time : 52 mins
Visibility : 20 m
Max depth : 18.6 m
Remarks : This dive site is not often dive by resort's dive boat as it takes about 1 hr 30 mins to reach the dive site, it is usually visited by LOB as the last two dives on sunday morning while transiting back to Endau. Beautiful table corals, rich soft corals, cleaner shrimp, anemone crab, giant humphead parrotfish and sea snake.

26th April (6th dive)
Dive site : Tokong Burong (5C)
Time in : 1139hr
Bottom time : 56 mins

WANT TO SEE MOLA MOLA DURING 2009 ?

After diving for many years in Nusa Penida, albeit braving the freezing 17 degree temperarure swelling from the Indian Ocean just to catch a glimpse of the heaviest known bony fish in the world weighing about one metric ton (2,200 lbs), however often it ended up in vain. This year NDT has collaborated with some of the dive centres in Bali and the few dates with the best possible Mola Mola sighting :)

Come join us for this year for the Oceanic Sunfish dive expedition in Bali. Check our dive calender 09, alternatively NDT can also assist divers interested to dive in bali with accommodation and dive services during any of your prefer departure, that will save you so much of hassle, let us do the arrangement for you during your stay in Bali. Feel free to e mail us for more information.
